In 2014, two new talents—Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff—entered the Hindi film industry with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti and took the whole of Bollywood by storm. Seven years later, both of them are bonafide superstars and are ruling the industry. So, if their reunion had to happen on screen, it had to be with something grand and that’s what Vikas Bahl’s Ganapath is offering. I have been intrigued by the details of the film that are out yet, and it just keeps getting interesting with each development.
Last month, Kriti had gone to London to shoot for her first schedule of Ganapath, and when she returned, she had posted a video on Instagram mentioning that she will be back for Christmas, and seems like that time has come.
A source close to Kriti shares:
“Kriti has not only been hopping sets but also from one city to another. She returned from London post a long schedule of Ganapath in UK towards the end of November and immediately left for Shehzada shoot in Delhi. Post that, she came to Mumbai on December 11th just to repack and wrap a few brand commitments in Mumbai. And now, within the next two days, she leaves for the next schedule of Ganapath to London, where she will again be training intensely for all her action sequences.”
Ganapath is reportedly set in a dystopian post-war future and sees Tiger as a boxer in the film. It is set to be a two-part franchise, with the first part slated to release around Christmas 2022, and also features Elli AvrRam alongside the two leads. Kriti would be taking up some high-octane action for the film for the first time and it really excites me. The actress already has a powerful 2022 ahead with Bhediya, Shehzada, Bachchan Pandey and Adipurush in her pipeline, along with the recently announced film with Anurag Kashyap and it feels great to see Kriti’s talent being recognised. It’s just onwards and upwards from here for the actress.
