In the last decade, John Abraham has undergone a massive image change as from being a part of multi-starrers comedies, he has become the conventional hero who backs the whole project on his name and capabilities. I have loved this new phase of his career and so has the audience. Even now the actor is finding new things to do and after showing his grey side in films like Race 2, he is set to be the big baddie opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Pathan. But the rescheduling of Pathan’s shoot has affected another one of John’s projects.
Due to son Aryan Khan’s whole tryst in the case with the NCB, Shah Rukh had to push the shoots of his films, which included Pathan and Atlees’s next. Now, reportedly the shoot of Pathan will be starting this month and according to a report in Peeping Moon, this delay has caused a postponement in the shooting of John’s Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake.
The remake was supposed to go on floors in January 2022 but now John will be busy with Pathan till March 2022, so the former has been pushed further down the calendar. It was earlier supposed to start in September 2021 with John and Abhishek Bachchan stepping into the shows of Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran respectively, but with Abhishek backing out citing date issues, the production was pushed to January with Arjun Kapoor replacing him.
According to a source, director Jagan Shakti has completed the reccee for the remake and was supposed to start filming from January 20, but he is now looking for new dates. The 2020 Malayalam action-thriller Ayyappanum Koshiyum revolves around the conflict between an influential and wealthy ex-havildar and a sub-inspector in Attapadi.
John has a busy schedule ahead as apart from these two films, he also has Attack and Ek Villain Returns. Seeing how hard John has worked to reinvent himself, it feels great to see him get the opportunities and faith from makers to try out new things. Having admired his acting skills since his debut, I am eagerly waiting for him to rule the screens in the coming years with such exciting projects.
