Actor Vijay Varma has proved his versatility in performing arts through his films and series like Gully Boy, A Suitable Boy, and my personal favourite Mirzapur 2. Vijay has gained massive appreciation in the industry for carrying such diverse roles efficiently and I believe it is deservedly so. Pandemic was the period when almost every celebrity was struggling for work, Vijay, however, had a different experience altogether. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Vijay praises OTT for helping his career grow .
Vijay said:
OTT kept me going. I was a bit scattered in the beginning because She released just at the time of the first lockdown. But after that I had back-to-back projects coming out. All the work that I did finally released as all these platforms wanted content. We found refuge in arts, and audience did that. I am very happy that I was able to reach out to audience through my work and I was in their mind, I didn’t go out of sight.”
The actor further praised the OTT platforms and said:
I am glad that we have these streaming services. I know of so many actors whose work relied in theatres, especially the big movie stars who had to wait for theatres to open for their work to be seen by people. Frankly, I got lucky.
Vijay has a number of projects in his kitty namely Darlings with Alia Bhatt, Hurdang, and an untitled film. The actor has been able to portray each of his roles in a distinct manner and it is hard feat to achieve, but that’s what makes me admire him and his work, and I really wait to watch him do his magic on screen.
