Being a 90’s kid, I have witnessed the growth of Preity Zinta as an actress from a debutante in Soldier to one of the leading actresses of the early 2000s with films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer Zaara and Koi Mil Gaya. Usually referred to as the ‘bubbly’ girl, Preity has always been one of my favourites so I was ecstatic to know about the next phase in her personal life as she and husband Gene Goodenough became proud parents to twins Jai and Gia through surrogacy recently. And the excitement keeps on increasing as the latest reports suggest that the new mom is ready for an acting comeback.
According to a report in TOI, Preity is going to return to acting with filmmaker Danish Renzu’s yet-untitled film. It will be set in Kashmir supposedly and will see the actress play a brave Kashmiri mother.
The report further states that although there has been no official confirmation yet, the work on the film has already started and a source was quoted as saying to them that the shooting will take place during the first quarter of next year, with the additional casting process currently in progress.
If the reports turn out to be true, this won’t be the first time that Preity will be shooting in the valleys of Kashmir. Her previous films Mission Kashmir and Veer Zaara had also been shot there. The source further told TOI that Preity is actually in that state of mind where she wants to sign more films, while she already has a couple of projects in the offing.
It was last in 2018 that Preity was seen on the big screen opposite Sunny Deol in Bhaiaji Superhit. Two days ago, she announced the news of her twins coming to the world and maybe it’s this phase in real life that will help her bring out the essence of motherhood on screen too and I am excited to see that.
