Katrina Kaif has always been considered as one of the most beautiful actresses of B-Town. Her beauty is almost otherworldly and so when the star recently admitted in an interview that, back in the day, she thought her features were not perfect, we couldn’t believe it. In a recently interview with Cosmopolitan India, the Sooryavanshi star stated that, for her, the idea of beauty was formed based on what she saw in magazines and this made her feel that she did not ‘fit in’.
Katrina said:
I grew up thinking that there is just one kind of beauty—it was what you saw in the magazines, and if you didn’t conform to that, then you didn’t cut it. I used to be rather conscious about the way I looked because I felt like I didn’t quite fit in. Today, people might find that admission a little strange, but back then, I felt that there were things about my features that were not ‘perfect’. I realise now that I was the one putting this pressure on myself.
Well, I am not saying that Kat was anything different from a lot of people back in the day. Beauty standards were indeed set by esteemed publications and self-proclaimed gurus and it was very difficult to defy them at that point. However, now the definition of beauty has changed a lot. And as Katrina rightly said, putting pressure on oneself is surely not the way to go.
On the work front, Katrina has the horror-comedy Phone Booth in her kitty along with Tiger 3. In Phone Booth, she will share screen space with Jackie Shroff, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. Meanwhile, it does not surprise me at all that her Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar is turning out to be a box-office hit.
