The minute November-December comes around there’s a certain kind of joy wafting through the air. Maybe it’s that we spend more time with our loved ones and our family or it’s that we get to go out looking and feeling like our best selves. Whatever it is everyone is over the moon and all geared up for the festive season with their decor ideas and clothes.
Of course, when it comes to clothing the best place to seek out inspiration is from the best of the best and no one else has that kind of access like our Bollywood stars, amirite? And boy! let me tell you they never disappoint us. Given that the Covid laws are a bit lax at the moment, we have plenty of celebrity sightings to go off of. So scroll on for some exciting inspo.
Here’s a look at a few of our favourite celebrity looks that could totally be major looks for Diwali this year:
1) Katrina Kaif
If you like elegant and simple styles then Katrina Kaif is the one to keep an eye on. Ami Patel styles her in this gorgeous, sunflower yellow Anamika Khanna outfit. Separates are always an excellent investment because of how versatile they are in nature. The jacket with its floral embroidery is totally eye-catching, no?
2) Aditi Rao Hydari
Try a gharara set like Aditi’s orange Raw Mango outfit. Sanam Ratansi styles her in this gorgeous kurta set with an all-over print with gold butti work. It is casual enough to wear to someone’s home too no?
3) Radhika Apte
Like to keep things casual but classy? Try Radhika Apte’s outfit by Payal Khandwala. Brocade high-waist flared trousers paired with a bronze shirt. Pranay and Shounak, her stylists understand what works for the female form.
4) Genelia Deshmukh
Again Pranay and Shounak give us another wonderful look. A bright yellow embellished salwar from Vani Vats will make you look effortlessly put together for your Diwali lunch and brunch scenes. Love this look on Genelia as well!
5) Ananya Panday
If you prefer solid colours and also love them lazy girl hacks then pick a pre-stitched saree. The flirty and feminine style of this saree is what makes it relaxed enough for a house party and dressy enough for the same. Love how Tanya Ghavri styles Ananya in this Riddhi Mehra saree though.
6) Janhvi Kapoor
If you like OTT looks and want to be the belle of the ball then this blingy outfit by Manish Malhotra that Tanya Ghavri styles Janhvi in is right up your alley. Are you ready to be the shiny disco ball at this party? And can you imagine any light that hits your outfit would literally radiate light back at people? Now isn’t that the statement you want to be making!
7) Vidya Balan
I love a saree moment but sometimes I find the traditional drape to be a bit boring and if you feel like me too then take a cue out of Vidya Balan’s OOTD. I love how Pranay and Shounak have draped this House Of Urrmi saree. What I love even more though is the embroidery and design details all over the pallu which makes this drape look even more appealing no?
8) Kajol
How gorgeous is Kajol’s hand-painted, emerald green, silk organza saree? Perfect fall, perfect colours, Picchika by Urvashi Sethi really found their USP. Radhika Mehra her stylist has done a 180 with Kajol’s approach to fashion and we’re loving it.
9) Shraddha Kapoor
If you like making big, bold appearances then this striped saree from Yam that Namrata Deepak styles Shraddha in will do wonders for you. The prints and colours are exactly right for any festive occasion.
10) Jacqueline Fernandez
If you love black but don’t want to look like you’re in mourning, opt for this gorgeous Rohit Bal outfit that Chandini Whabi styles Jacqueline Fernandez in. The floral print and the pops of colour make it the perfect outfit to wear at Diwali.
11) Sanaya Malhotra
This Vani Vats outfit that Sukriti Grover styles Sanaya Malhotra in is just so beautiful and eye-catching. This lime-green lehenga with mirror work is exactly the right amount of bling for a party. And you can totes take it with you into wedding season as well.
