There has been a lot of buzz around Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar‘s film Prithviraj. The film has been in the making for quite some time and with the scale that it has been produced on, I am totally expecting a visual treat on the 70 mm. And the good news is that actor Sonu Sood has a very interesting and important role to play in the film. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Sonu’s role is parallel to that of Akshay’s in the Chandraprakash Dwivedi directorial.
The report states that Sonu will play the role of poet Chand Bardai who had written the epic poem on Prithviraj Chauhan‘s life called Prithviraj Raso. It is said that the character was very close to Prithviraj and played a very important role in creating his legendary aura. Reportedly, the makers have also expanded Sonu’s role in the film after his fan following increased in the last year. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Ashutosh Rana in important roles.
For the unversed, Sonu Sood’s philanthropic work during the pandemic made him a real-life hero amongst people. He truly became the messiah of the masses when he helped stranded migrants reach home safely during the first lockdown. On the work front, Sonu also has three films coming up in the South.
I have truly admired the actor for what he did in the pandemic times and seeing him once again on the big screen will surely be a treat. Prithviraj is slated to release in January 2022.
