The trailer of Bunty Aur Babli 2 was released by the makers yesterday and it is one roller coaster ride. Featuring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari in lead roles, the trailer also sees the super talented Pankaj Tripathi playing a cop. After the trailer’s release, while fans couldn’t get over the glamour of the leads, Pankaj’s character stood out quite strikingly as well.
In a statement, Pankaj said:
I play a cop named Jatayu Singh, who through his shrewdness, manages to pit the two Bunty and Bablis in an epic fight for supremacy. While the two battle it out to prove who is the biggest con artist, I have my eyes on the prize to be the most acclaimed cop. What follows is madness and a laugh riot for audiences to be thoroughly entertained… Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a supremely funny film. I loved the character that was offered to me by Varun V Sharma [director] and YRF. I have been looking for a role like this because it gives me the creative freedom to entertain audiences through comedy.
As per a Mid-Day report, the actor also said that he was “grateful to find projects that are different”. And I absolutely agree with the star. We have seen him playing a variety of roles from that of a corrupt politician to a deadly gangster and even a serious father. But I admit that his comic act is my favourite! Pankaj’s comic stance is a sure-shot formula for success and there are no two ways about it.
The Varun V Sharma directed Bunty Aur Babli 2 is set for a November 19 release and I cannot wait!
