When I watched Bunty Aur Babli starring Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan, trust me I was doubled up with laughter at the hilarious performances. Veteran Amitabh Bachchan added to the fun and the songs were peppy as well. And so when the makers announced the sequel to the crime-comedy, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Just that this one will have the handsome Saif Ali Khan playing Bunty alongside Rani’s Babli and joining them will be newbies Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari. And now, the makers just dropped the teaser of Bunty Aur Babli 2 and I have tears of laughter.

The video starts with Rani and Saif discussing how they are coming back on screen together after 12 years and how they missed working with each other. Well, to be honest, their fans missed them too. We cannot forget their mind blowing chemistry in Hum Tum and Tara Rum Pum and time and again, they have proved that they rule when it comes to comic timings. What surprised me in the teaser, however, was Siddhant and Sharvari’s striking acts. For newbies, they are super confident and the way they have emoted in this one minute 26 second-video is amazing.
Interestingly, Siddhant and Sharvari will also play Bunty and Babli in the film, but representing the younger generation. I am guessing the makers have hinted at the plot here with a possible confusion over the two Bunty-Babli pairs. But we must wait and watch!
Speaking about the film, Saif said earlier:
Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a completely rebooted sequel and is set in today’s time. It is a fantastic script that hooked me on instantly. It is an out and out entertainer for the entire family to sit and enjoy, and this is what I loved and connected with. Also, it is a new role, language and milieu and that’s what I really look for in a script. I also love the dynamics between the originals and the new Bunty and Babli in the film. It is fresh, hilarious and extremely engaging. Rani and I have always had a lot of fun working with each other, and I am looking forward to our creative collaboration again. It is also equally amazing to be back home at YRF again.

The video is a true reflection of what the film has to offer to audiences which is non-stop entertainment and non-stop comedy. Though in the unit, we play ourselves and not the characters in the film, it has been smartly written with trolling humour as Saif and I go after Siddhant and Sharvari and vice versa.
Produced by YRF’s Aditya Chopra, Bunty Aur Babli 2 will be directed by Varun V Sharma. While the makers have promised to drop the trailer on October 25, the film is set to hit the theatres on November 19, 2021. The teaser and the amazing chemistry between the four leads has totally got me impatient for the sequel to release. After all it’s Saif-Rani reuniting, I cannot miss this one!
