Real-life uncle and nephew and stars who enjoy a huge fan following, Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati are all set to collaborate for the first time for a Netflix web series, Rana Naidu. It is an official adaptation of the American crime drama, Ray Donovan.
Bankrolled by Sunder Aaron of Locomotive Global Media LLP, Rana Naidu will be helmed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma. The story will chronicle the life of Rana Naidu, a professional fixer for Bollywood and Mumbai’s elite.
Rana took to his social media to share the news. He wrote, “Always wanted to share the screen with my uncle the VICTORY V @venkateshdaggubati and my dream is finally coming true. As much as I love him off-screen, in “Rana Naidu” we are going to be at each other’s throats. #RanaNaidu, coming soon on Netflix.”

In a statement, Rana Daggubati shared that the show marks the many firsts for him. It will be his first collaboration with his uncle, Venkatesh, and it’s also the for both the actors will be exploring long-form storytelling. The Hindu quoted him as saying, “It is completely different from what both of us have done in our careers so far. I am extremely happy to work with a crew and a platform that knows this format the best. It will be new, challenging, and fun. We are looking forward to filming soon.”
