I have always liked how Varun Dhawan has proven his versatility on the acting front. Be it a comedy, action, or drama, Varun has excelled in it. Now with digital platforms becoming the new hub for films and shows, the Coolie No.1 actor is also joining the bandwagon. Yes, as per a Bollywood Hungama report, Varun will be starring in the Indian spin-off of Citadel.
Reportedly, Varun has signed up with Amazon Prime to make his digital debut. And it will be the American drama series Citadel that also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, which will have Varun in its Indian version. Created by Anthony and Joe Russo, Citadel is an action-adventure espionage series, which will consist of the main series and some other local language series.
Citadel is currently being shot in London, and the main series features Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden. As for the Indian spin-off, it will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, Varun will be seen in the lead role. Reports further add that the local productions of Citadel will be set in India, Mexico, and Italy. Also, there will be cross-overs and cross-references between the main series and local series.
Citadel‘s Indian spin-off will be going on floors next year and the remaining cast will be officially announced soon. As for the main series, it will be streaming in January 2022. I am already excited about the Indian version and I am sure that you would be too.
