In the past year majorly all the big films have taken the OTT route due to the ongoing pandemic. Earlier there were news doing rounds about Alia Bhatt‘s Gangubai Kathiawadi, SS Rajamouli‘s RRR, and John Abraham‘s Attack to release digitally. However, the makers have now clarified that all the three movies are scheduled to release theatrically.
Dr Jayantilal Gada, chairman and MD of Pen Studios in an official statement said—
We would like to clarify that Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR and Attack will release in cinemas. There have been several rumours doing rounds about these films releasing on OTT platforms before cinemas which are untrue. These magnum opus films ae made for the big screen experience and would be releasing in theatres.
Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film has been shot extensively during the lockdown. Announcing the film’s wrap in June this year, Alia had taken to her Instagram to share, “This film and set has been through two lockdowns.. two cyclones.. director and actor getting covid during the making!!! the troubles the set has faced is another film all together! But through all that and more.. what I take away is the gigantic life changing experience!”
On the other hand, S.S Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ is all set to release on October 13 in the theatres. The film stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles. The film will also see Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in key roles.
Talking about John Abraham’s Attack, the film is directed by debutante Lakshya Raj Anand and stars Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles.
I am super excited about these films and sure can’t wait to catch them on the big screen.
