Chehre, a mystery-thriller film helmed by Rumi Jafry and produced by Anand Pandit’s Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited will feature Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles. The film backed by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited is scheduled to have a theatrical release on August 27.
In an interview with ETimes, director Rumi spoke about the film, his experience and shared how he was excited to direct a film that is quite different from all his previous films. He further added that Emraan and Amitabh are very similar when it comes to professionalism and their work in this film is just spectacular. Chehre will also star Krystle D’Souza and Rhea Chakraborty in pivotal roles.
Speaking about his experience of working with Emraan and Amitabh, Rumi says-
After we finalised Amitabh Bachchan for Chehre, we started looking for other actors. I was looking for the second lead and Emraan fit right into the character I had envisioned. Even though I had never worked with him before, I had heard a lot about him in the industry. He is truly like Amit ji when it comes to professionalism–dedicated, hardworking and allows nothing to interfere with his work. He is very involved in the work he does. I wanted somebody just like him. When I approached him with Chehre, he, too, loved his character and was happy to come on board. Emraan’s work has turned out to be even better than I expected.
The release date of the film had to be changed over 3-4 times due to the pandemic, but now that the movie is finally relating this week, I am super excited to see what they have in store for us!
