Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles is undoubtedly one of the best patriotic films. The movie is based on the life of the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra whose bravery and sacrifice paved the way for our country’s victory. In a recent interview, producer Shabbir Boxwala revealed that Salman Khan had approached him with the idea of his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma playing the lead role.
However, the producer had Siddharth Malhotra in his mind and had already pitched the idea to the Batra family. Salman wanted Shershaah to be Aayush’s debut Bollywood film, but as the Batra family had already agreed to Siddharth playing the lead role, no changes were made. The movie is a masterpiece and I feel, Sidharth did 100% justice to the character. In a nutshell, Shershaah is a beautifully portrayed and brilliantly executed patriotic film.
In a conversation with Mid-Day, producer Shabbir Boxwala revealed-
Salman approached me at a stage when I was in talks with Junglee Pictures. He wanted Shershaah to be Aayush’s Sharma’s debut film and wanted to partner with me on it. It would have been highly unethical to drop him for another actor. When Captain Batra’s family gave me the rights, it was a big moment for me. They showed immense trust in me, and I didn’t want to go wrong at any step. I explained my predicament to Salman, who was understanding. Aayush was sweet and sportingly said that playing a double role in his debut movie might be a tall order.
Shershaah has been receiving positive feedbacks and love from the audience. From the songs to the cinematography, everything is just perfect. Have you guys watched it yet?
