Aamir Khan recently opened up and shared his views on films aiming for a digital release on the OTT platform. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw a major shift in the entertainment industry as OTT platforms became a huge part of the new normal, while theatres remained closed. As they say, there’s a flip side to everything, OTT is fun and easy but the thrill of watching a movie in the theatre hits differently, right?
Aamir Khan is currently gearing up for his big-screen release, Laal Singh Chaddha, whose BTS photos went viral over the internet a few days ago. Laal Singh Chaddha is an adaptation of the Hollywood flick, Forrest Gump, which is based on Winston Groom’s novel of the same name. The movie will star Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles.
When asked about his opinion on the films releasing on the OTT platform, Aamir says-
Some films are releasing on OTT platforms, and as a film person, I am very concerned. I hope in the near future things will improve. It is not easy to talk about the reopening of cinema halls. Theatres can be opened up only when the health situation improves, and we control the Covid-19 situation as a society, we are all trying and working on it. As more and more people get vaccinated things will get better.
Laal Singh Chaddha is slated to release in theatres on Christmas this year, and I am super excited for this film!
