Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone make a magical pair both in real and reel life. All thanks to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for casting this duo in not one but three blockbuster movies – Bajirao Mastani, Ram Leela and Padmaavat. Fans were very excited to hear that Deepika and Ranveer will again be seen in Baiju Bawra, but as per reports, Deepika has dropped out from the film as the makers denied her demand for equal remuneration as Ranveer Singh.
Deepika is a flagbearer in the march against the existing gender pay gap and this move just proved that she really does stand by her words. Baiju Bawra will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s rendition of the musical saga, that was earlier filmed by Vijay Bhatt in 1952. The film will revolve around a young musician Baiju, who challenges the famous maestro Tansen in Mughal Emperor Akbar’s court to a musical duel to avenge his father’s death.
As per a report on Bollywood Hungama, a close source shares-
Apparently, Deepika wants the same remuneration as her husband. Not a penny more, not a penny less. In a way, it works out for the better. Four Ranveer – Deepika films in a row from Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have been excessive, don’t you think?
Deepika has an exciting line-up including projects like Nag Ashwin’s Pan-India film alongside Prabhas, The Intern remake, Mahabharata, Fighter, ’83, Pathan and Shakun Batra’s next.
