Three-time National Award-winning actress, Surekha Sikri passes away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest. The veteran actress was popularly known for her performances in ‘Balika Vadhu and ‘Badhaai Ho.’ There is no doubt that she was amongst the versatile actors who are always remembered for their past performances.
As per the reports of Hindustan Times, the actress was suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. Off late, Surekha ji wasn’t keeping well and this was due to her second brain stroke. Last year, she was admitted to the hospital after she suffered a brain stroke. Her family and loved ones have arrived at her home this morning to say their final goodbye.
Surekha ji made her debut in 1978, with the film ‘Kissa Kursi Ka.’ She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress thrice, for her roles in ‘Tamas’ (1988), ‘Mammo’ (1995), and ‘Badhaai Ho’ (2018). She was always known for the roles she had played in different films and TV shows. She was last seen in director Zoya Akhtar’s short film in the Netflix anthology Ghost Stories.
Surekha ji was a brilliant talent and she will be truly missed.
