After five long years, ace filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to wear the director’s hat with his new project ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. Karan took to his social media to make the announcement, revealing that it will feature Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
Karan’s tweet read— “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it! Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy.”

The film will be penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy. For the unversed, Karan’s last film as a director was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, and Ranbir Kapoor. The film also had cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Fawad Khan. This movie will mark Karan’s first association with Ranveer as a director.
According to a few reports, the film will also star veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
The 49-year-old filmmaker also teased his comeback as a director on his social media by sharing a video of some of his special BTS moments from the sets of his films, Karan Johar’s caption read— “This is the beginning of a new journey & my way back home – all at once. It’s time to go back to my favourite place, it’s time to create some eternal love stories from behind the lens. A very special story, truly immersed in the roots of love and family. Announcing my next film tomorrow at 11am, watch this space for more.”
