Karan Johar just announced today that he is all set to bring to us a film about a historic figure in the Indian Independence struggle. The biopic is going to be based on a book titled ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ which chronicles one man called C. Sankaran Nair‘s fight for justice against the British Empire in the tragic, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre case.
Sharing the news with everyone, Karan released a statement about the film, and how it’s set to be based on the legendary court-room battle that Mr. Nair fought against the British which went on to ignite a full-fledged freedom struggle all over the country. He inspired so many to come forward and fight for justice and the truth and his story is something that was beautifully put forth in the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ written by Sankaran Nair’s great-grandson, Raghu Palat and his wife Pushpa Palat.
This biopic is set to be inspired by the book and will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The press note Karan shared also mentions that the lead cast will be announced soon.

The film is being presented by Karan’s Dharma Productions along with Still And Still Media Collective. It is set to go on floors shortly and I cannot wait to know more about who’s going to be part of it and more! What about you guys?
