Amongst other wardrobe basics, a simple kurta set is one that most definitely deserves top-drawer status. Whether it’s a Patiala suit or one with straight-cut pants, tights etc., a simplistic kurta pyjama will be your saviour on days you’re in the mood for a desi vibe and will help you ace it with minimal effort. Bollywood celebrities have shown their appreciation for simple sets quite often. And because they choose to wear them when they’re off-duty makes it even more clear that Bollywood celebrities and simple kurta sets are pretty much a sartorial love story. Last week, we saw Yami Gautam, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Rakul Preet and Ankita Lokhande out and about in the city donning some really nice kurtas. Take a look at what they wore below.
Simple kurta sets worn by Bollywood celebrities over the week that’ll awaken the desi girl in you:
Rakul Preet
The actor was spotted post a work meeting in a pistachio green ensemble. The full-sleeved kurta came detailed with chikankari work in floral motifs spread over the silhouette. She teamed it with matching palazzos and completed the look with silver, tasselled Kolhapuri chappals. Silver jhumkas accentuated the desi elegance of the entire look!
Yami Gautam
Yami was seen coming out of the airport in a pretty floral number. Her pick: a full-sleeved, white kurta and pants printed with poppy pink roses and a sheer dupatta that came adorned with shells on the border. She rounded off her look with a maroon, top-handle bag and embellished silver Kolhapuri heels.
Nushrratt Bharuccha
The actor showed her love for the beloved kurta set in a navy blue number with flared pants. The full-sleeved number came with a Nehru collar that added a formal touch to the look. Her mini beige bag with croc skin-like pattern broke the monotony in her ensemble and served as a fun pop of colour, while the size of the bag made one helluva statement!
Ankita Lokhande
Ankita was seen in a slightly dressy iteration. She picked a burgundy-coloured, V-neck wrap-around kurta with a cinched waist and a flouncy flair. The standout element of the look was the bandhani pattern and the pom-pom rope attached to tie a knot. She teamed her kurta with plain white palazzos and floral-printed juttis. Absolutely love how colourful her entire look is!
