As Maharashtra and the entire country battles the rampant second wave of COVID-19, we are seeing a terrible shortage of beds, oxygen supply and medication. In this situation, a lot of private and government buildings and properties are being let out as make-shift COVID facilities for patients.
In one such case, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has converted the State Bharat Scouts and Guides Halls in Shivaji Park to a 20-bed, COVID-19 facility with ventilators, oxygen support and para monitors. Funds for this facility have been contributed by Ajay Devgn through his social service wing NY Foundations along with veteran producer Anand Pandit among others.
A contribution of over Rs.1 crore has been made to the “Smiley Account” which is the business development cell of the BMC.
Here are some exclusive pictures of the COVID-19 facility:
Producer Anand Pandit is simultaneously working on other facilities across Mumbai in Juhu and Borivali to help build COVID-19 facilities. Sources indicate that among others, even Big B is interested in helping.
In these dire times, it is surely gratifying to see personalities like Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit using their position and means to help the ones in need.
