Amit Mistry, well-known television and Bollywood actor, passed away earlier this morning following a cardiac arrest at the age of 47. Amit has, in his career, given us some memorable roles in both films and television.
The actor’s manager, Maharshi Desai told PTI, “he woke up, had his breakfast and even exercised before he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was absolutely fit and fine. Amit had no underlying medical condition. It’s an absolutely shocking news.”
Amit was known for his performances in films like ‘Kya Khena’ ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’ ‘Shor In The City’ ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana‘ and in the Amazon Prime series, ‘Bandish Bandits.’ Apart from being a versatile actor, he was also a director and dialogue writer in Bollywood, Gujarati cinema, and the television industry.
Well-known personalities like Vir Das, Swanand Kirkire, Ashwin Mushran and many more took to their social media to pay respect and express their grief on this unfortunate news. Our hearts go out to his mother and his family.
This is certainly a huge loss for our film industry and Amit will be sorely missed. His legacy will always live on in our hearts. May his soul rest in peace.
