Santé Spa Cuisine, BKC! Chia keeps the stomach cool and I love adding them to my first litre of water I drink everyday in summers. And watermelon is the perfect summer fruit—juicy, refreshing and tastes even better when eaten cold. Scroll down to check out how to make it for two people in under 15 minutes. It’s going to become your next favourite drink, trust me!
What You’ll Need
3 cups watermelon
1 tsp chia seeds
10 mint leaves
5 basil leaves
1 rosemary sprig
1 lemon
1 tsp black salt
Here’s How You Can Put It All Together
Step 1: Wash, peel and cut the watermelon into cubes.
Step 2: Juice the watermelon cubes and strain it.
Step 3: As it is straining, take your glasses and rim them with black salt.
Step 4: Now, add chopped basil, chopped mint, soaked chia seeds and the lemon juice to the glasses.
Step 5: Pour over the strained, chilled watermelon juice in the glasses.
Step 6: Garnish with a sprig of rosemary for a herby aroma.
Pro Tip
Straining the watermelon juice is the tasty way, but leaving it un-strained and the fibre in is the healthy way!
I think I am going to go make myself a big jar of this watermelon and chia cooler after publishing this recipe! If you try it too, then don’t forget to let us know in the comments below how you liked it.
