Here’s a piece of good news for all Rani Mukerji fans. The actress is set to star in the feature drama Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, which is going to revolve around child welfare. The film will be helmed by Ashima Chibber and is produced by Zee Studios and local Emmay Entertainment. Rani made the big announcement on her 43rd birthday during an Instagram session on Saturday.
The actress will be seen playing the lead role in Ashima Chibber’s Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. While the plot details have not been revealed yet according to a few reports, the project is based on the controversial 2011 true story of an Indian couple whose children were taken away from them by Norwegian welfare services.
According to a report in Deadline, speaking about Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, Rani Mukerji said that there could have been no better way to celebrate her birthday today than announce this really important film. She further said that in her 25th year in cinema, she has possibly signed one of the most special and significant films of her career. For the unversed, she started her career with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, which was a woman-centric film, and coincidentally in her 25th year, she is announcing a film that is about around a woman’s determination to fight against all odds and take on a country.
Currently, the film is in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors soon.
Apart from this, Rani will be seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2. The film also features Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari.
