On January 30, 2021, the Union Government green-signalled 100% occupancy in the theatres due to the fall in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country. It brought life back to the film industry and within the next 20 days, release dates of many films were announced. As expected, the major festivals and holiday weekends were all taken quickly by films like Radhe, Sooryavanshi, Bell Bottom among others. However, there was one film whose release announcement was much-awaited but the makers didn’t make the date public.
We are talking about Ranbir Kapoor’s highly-anticipated film, Brahmastra. It was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres last year, on December 4, 2020. But due to the pandemic, it was cancelled. The film went on floors in 2018.
Now according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source has revealed that the film will release this year. “Brahmastra will be released this year. The last schedule has got a bit delayed after Ranbir Kapoor tested positive for Coronavirus. But it is expected to get done within 3-4 weeks. Soon, the team of the film will be fully focusing on post-production and getting the film ready for release.”
The source further added that Brahmastra will release post-Diwali, probably in November-end or in the first or second week of December.
Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and South star Nagarjuna among others.
