Parineeti Chopra is on a roll and how! After her performance in Girl On The Train received some rave reviews, she has now moved onto her next film, the biopic ‘Saina’. This is the first time Pari is taking on a role where she is reprising the role of a real life sports champion and from the looks of the trailer, it sure does seem like she has nailed it!
Saina is the story of how the World No.1 badminton champion, Saina Nehwal rose to the top. It’s about her family and her journey from a middle-class household to being a name every household in India will know of. Parineeti, of course, went through a gruelling preparation by learning the sport, for it to look real on-screen. But there is a lot more to it than that and she says this is something for which she took her sister, Priyanka Chopra‘s help and advice.
PC has played a similar role when she reprised the character of boxing champion Mary Kom. Pari, in an interview with Pinkvilla, says that she did go to PC for advice and that she had a lot of tips. She went on to say that they spoke about the look a lot. PC apparently advised her not to go for prosthetics, but to just mould herself and her body language like that of Saina’s. Pari points out that PC also did the same with Mary Kom – she didn’t exactly look like her, but transformed herself with the right body language and attitude.
Now, who better than PC (who nailed it in Mary Kom), to give Pari some sound advice, no?
Directed by Amol Gupte and produced by T-Series, Saina is set to release theatrically on March 26, 2021 and I’m super thrilled to watch Pari in it!
