The White Tiger, that released recently is a movie that was critically acclaimed for the issues it raised and for the stellar performances by the actors in it. Based on a Man Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name by Arvind Adiga, this Ramin Bahrani directorial has now gone ahead and secured two huge nominations at the BAFTA awards!
The White Tiger starred debutante Adarsh Gourav in the lead role, alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Rajkummar Rao. Adarsh has made us all super proud by earning a nomination in the Lead Actor category of the BAFTA’s while Ramin Bahrani was nominated in the Adapted Screenplay category.
Adarsh was ecstatic as it is his first ever feature film and he won a BATFA nomination for it! Definitely a huge deal, no? He wrote, “Holy shit it’s really happening! Thank you Ramin for trusting me to play the character that has given me more than anything I’ve ever experienced. Congratulations to the team for two BAFTA nominations!! Best adapted screenplay and Leading actor. Congratulations to all the other nominees too!”

And guess who was even more stoked about both the nominations? Yes, Priyanka Chopra! The actress, who played a significant role in the film, was also the executive producer for it and took to her social media to heap praises on the ‘All Indian star cast’ to have reached the BAFTA’s! She tweeted, “What a proud moment for Indian talent with 2 BAFTA nominations for an ALL INDIAN STAR CAST!! Ecstatic for you @Gourav_Adarsh, you are so deserving of this recognition, and congratulations #RaminBahrani, so well deserved.” She followed it up with another tweet that read, “I feel extremely proud to have been an executive producer on this movie! Let’s get it!!”
