There are some characters that are so memorable and etched in our hearts that when we think of the actor, we think of the film. Hrithik Roshan‘s performance in Ashutosh Gowariker‘s Jodha Akbar is one such film and performance.
Co-starring the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the film was about how Jodha and Akbar come to fall in love with each other. It was double celebrations yesterday as Ashutosh celebrated his birthday and the period drama clocked in 13 years. Hrithik took to his social media to reminisce working on the film and shared a very special and important message along with it that he learnt then.
He starts with talking about how difficult the film was to do, and that he never understood why Ashutosh chose him for the role of the emperor. He says that it made him stronger and speaks about the importance of choosing to be strong.
The actor wrote:
Memories . #JodhaaAkbar. Man this movie was difficult . I was shit scared when Ashutosh Gowarikar offered it to me . Couldn’t understand how he could see someone like me commanding 10,000 soldiers. But then that’s what a director does . He envisions what you can’t . And that’s the reason I did the film . More than the script or story , it was for experiencing what this impossibility would do to me , how it would change me , make me stronger perhaps . And what I learnt was that to do strong things , you don’t need to be strong in the beginning ! In fact the decision of wanting to be strong comes before . And it MEANS having to choose that which is beyond your ability at the time of choosing. Trusting that the experience itself will do the rest. The challenge then itself creates the stronger you. It’s Magic. Try it.

Well, it was a role that radiated strength and magnificence no doubt. And it’s so interesting and lovely to note that it also changed and transformed Hrithik as an actor, performer and person.
On the work front, Hrithik just announced his upcoming film, Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand. It will feature him alongside Deepika Padukone and is set to release in theatres on 30 September 2022. I sure cannot wait for this one! What about you guys?
