After many months of lockdown in 2020, things now are slowly starting up and many industries have restarted work – the film industry included. While all precautions and protocols are being followed, COVID-19 unfortunately catches up sometimes.
That’s what seems to have happened to South-Indian actor, Suriya. The actor took to his social media to inform his fans and followers that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and that he’s fine and is undertaking treatment. He tweeted to his 6.5 million followers in Tamil.
After translation, his tweet reads:
I am undergoing treatment for Covid-19 and am better now. Let us all realise that life hasn’t returned to normalcy yet. We also cannot be filled with fear and let life come to a standstill. We still need to be careful and safe. Lots of love and gratitude to the dedicated doctors and medical staff standing by my side.
Here is his tweet:
On the work front, we recently saw Suriya in the film ‘Soorarai Pottru’, which also featured Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role. The film released on OTT due to the pandemic and was based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath of Air Deccan.
Suriya also has the Netflix film Navarasa, which he completed shoot for. The film is a collection of nine shorts directed by 9 filmmakers and Gautam Menon has directed Suriya’s short. The project is produced by Mani Ratnam and filmmaker Jayendra and marks Suriya’s digital debut.
Coming back to the actor’s health, here’s wishing he recovers super soon.
