Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Abhishek Bachchan are no doubt, the quintessential couple of Bollywood, amirite? From pictures with their families to sharing important moments from their career, their Instagram sure is a sweet one! Just today, Aishwarya went down memory lane as she shared pictures from 2007 during the premiere of her film opposite Abhishek titled Guru.
Guru premiered in New York in a grand manner and Aishwarya shared moments from her red carpet appearance with Abhishek alongside a picture of the director of the film, Mani Ratnam. She looks beautiful in a light blue sequined saree and AB Jr. dapper as always in a suit! Sharing the pictures, she wrote, “On this day…14 years…GURU FOREVER.”

Guru was loosely based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani and was a story about an ambitious businessman from Gujarat, played by Abhishek, and his journey to success with his wife, played by Aishwarya, by his side. The film also starred R Madhavan, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty.
It was post the premiere in New York that Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya, asking her to marry him. And the rest we know, is history!
Aishwarya has always been Mani Ratnam’s favourite muse right from Iruvar, Raavan and Guru. And now, they are all set to come together for the film titled Ponniyin Selvan. Aishwarya will next be seen in Mani’s next which is based on the fictional period novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy and is said to be made in two parts. Aishwarya is reportedly playing a dual role in the film that also stars an interesting ensemble cast that includes Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
The actress was spotted with Abhishek and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in Hyderabad recently where she reportedly has begun shoot for the film. I sure am excited for her and Mani Ratnam to create magic with this one, for sure!
