Atrangi Re Director Aanand L Rai Tests Positive For COVID-19

Out of all the films that resumed work in Bollywood post the nationwide lockdown, Aanand L Rai‘s Atrangi Re was one of them. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in the lead roles and began rolling in October.

Just last week, the entire team along with the actors celebrated the wrap of the Delhi schedule of the film. But just today, the director took to his social media to release a statement announcing that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Sharing that he is asymptomatic and is fine, he said:

I have tested covid positive today. Just wanted to inform everyone that I don’t feel any symptoms & I feel fine. I’m quarantining as instructed by authorities. Anyone who has come in contact with me recently is advised to quarantine & follow d govt protocols. Thank you for the support.

The film is a love story that is set in two different timelines and in two different cultures and will revolve around how love is looked at then and now and how it is perceived different in different cultures within our country.

Sara is set to play a double role in the film where she will be seen opposite both Akshay and Dhanush. Recently, she shared the first look of Akshay’s character in the film which looks all kinds of quirky with him channeling a very Mughal Emperor vibe.

Coming back to Aanand, here’s wishing him a super quick recovery do he can get back on sets of the film and resume work on it!
