Aanand L Rai is currently filming for his upcoming film, Atrangi Re that has a super interesting cast consisting of Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush. While that is still underway, the producer-director already has another big project in the making.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared yesterday that a biopic on Indian chess grandmaster, Vishwanathan Anand is in the works and that Aanand L Rai is going to direct it. The renowned analyst wrote, “The biopic – not titled yet – will be directed by Aanand L Rai… Produced by Sundial Entertainment [Mahaveer Jain] and Colour Yellow Productions [Aanand L Rai].”

Latest development in this story is that Dhanush is being considered to essay Vishwanathan Anand’s character in the film. A Bollywood Hungama report claims that Dhanush has always been a favourite of Aanand’s and that the director has set his heart on casting the actor for the role. Now, I sure cannot wait to know more about this casting!
The Raanjhana director is currently shooting for Atrangi Re which went on floors in October. He is returning to directing with this film after a gap of two years post the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero, which was a debacle at the box office.
