Bhumi Pednekar is one actress who never fails to surprise us with her performances and choice of films. Now, the actress is back in full form with the Horror-Comedy, Durgamati!
The film was recently in the news for changing its title from Durgavati to Durgamati. The trailer, which just dropped, is all things fierce, spooky and powerful! Directed by G Ashok, the film is the official remake of the Telugu film, Bhaagamathie. also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Mahie Gill and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles.
This is the first time Bhumi will be seen in such a role and she sure does pack a punch as she plays an IAS officer called Chanchal Chauhan, who gets entwined in the politics of corrupt politicians and police officers who are trying to frame an up and coming leader, Ishwar Prasad (played by Arshad Warsi). Mahie Gill and Jisshu Sengupta play officers who interrogate Chanchal in the age old Durgamati Haveli that is known to be haunted. Things take a turn in the mansion as Chanchal gets possessed by the ghost of the Queen of the mansion, Durgamati. This takes her on a horror-filled journey soaked in revenge and looks every bit thrilling and spooky.
