Ajay Devgn had a super productive lockdown. The actor was reading scripts and was working on conceptualising his next directorial venture, Mayday. Now, after eight long months of break from acting, the actor is back on the film sets as he has resumed the shooting for Bhuj: The Pride of India in Hyderabad yesterday.
According to a report by MidDay, a source was quoted as saying—”Considering major portions of the war drama were filmed well before the lockdown, the makers have charted out a 10-day schedule, following which they can call it a wrap. A set has been erected at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, and the team will adhere to the on-set guidelines during the stint”.
The narrative of the film is set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 197 which will witness Ajay Devgn essay the role of the Indian Air Force Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who rebuilt the IAF airbase in Bhuj with the help of Sunderben Jetha Madharparya — played by Sonakshi Sinha — and 300 local women. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, who plays the role of a civilian who lends a helping hand to the Indian forces during the war. He is expected to join the cast today. The source further added that “After spending the past few weeks in Dubai with his family, Sanjay has returned to India. He has about three to four days’ work on the film.”
Helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film will digitally premiere on Disney+Hotstar.
