Imran Khan won over many young hearts when he first debuted with Abbas Tyrewala‘s film, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, which was produced by his uncle, Aamir Khan, back in 2008. He went on to do films like I Hate Luv Stories and Delhi Belly which were appreciated. He was last seen opposite Kangana Ranaut in the film, Katti Batti in 2015. It has been 5 years since and his best friend, Akshay Oberoi just confirmed recently that Imran has officially quit acting.
Speaking to Navbharat Times in an interview, Akshay said Imran is his closest friend in the industry and is someone he can call at even 4 a.m in the morning. They had apparently studies together at Kishore Acting School in Andheri West and have known each other for almost 18 years now.
Speaking about Imran quitting acting, Akshay says:
See, Imran Khan has left acting at the moment. As far as I know, there is a better writer and director inside Imran, I do not know when he will direct his film himself, I am not going to put any pressure, but as a friend, I think so he will direct his film soon. Also, when Imran directs, I know he will make a wonderful film because his sensibility and understanding of cinema are very high.
He has in fact made his directorial debut in 2018 with a short film titled Mission Mars: Keep Walking India. I sure did love watching Imran on screen, but guess it’s time to see him don another very interesting hat and I can’t wait to see all that he has to offer!
