Rajkummar Rao has his hands full with movies and another one was added to it. He is all set to begin shooting for the remake of the infamous comedy, Chupke Chupke in March 2021. Rao will play Dharmendra‘s character in the remake. Originally released in 1975, Chupke Chupke won hearts for it’s comedy and stellar performances by Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Asrani and Om Prakash.
A source told the Mumbai Mirror,
The script is undergoing some rewrites as the makers are determined to do justice to the original. They are also in talks with several actors for the role of Sukumar, professor of English masquerading as Parimal and trying to teach botany, enacted by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. The cast should be locked in by December
Rajkummar Rao has his roster full for next year it seems. He will be shooting for Badhaai Do with Bhumi Pednekar before Chupke Chupke. Badhaai Do is a sequel to Badhaai Ho, the hilarious Ayushmann Khurrana movie, and will certainly be one to watch out for. Rao is also said to be shooting a film with Kriti Sanon, Dimple Kapadia and Paresh Rawal in Chandigarh.
If any actor has emerged victorious over the lock-down, it is Rajkummar Rao. Not only does he have an impressive list of movies lined up for early 2021, he is also releasing many in 2020! His movies, Chhalaang and Ludo are geared up for OTT releases this year itself. He has completed shooting for The White Tiger with Priyanka Chopra. He also just wrapped up the horror comedy Roohi Afzana with Janhvi Kapoor. Talk about a busy schedule!
Rajkummar Rao adds a special flair to all the movies he does. They are an absolute delight to watch. We are sure that he will bring Chupke Chupke back to life in 2021!
