It was recently reported that filmmaker Rohit Shetty and superstar Ranveer Singh are all set to reunite for a comedy film comedy. And it seems like the director-actor duo has found the subject they join hands on. Reportedly it’s the remake of the 1982’s, Angoor, the classic comedy which featured Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the publication said that Rohit Shetty has been trying to make the Angoor remake for a while now and it is finally happening now. The filmmaker has roped in Ranveer Singh who will be stepping in Sanjeev Kumar’s shoes. Rohit had earlier planned to helm the remake in 2015 with Shah Rukh Khan in lead, however, things didn’t work out and the two collaborated on Dilwale which also starred Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
The source further said that “He has now got the much-needed break in the Covid pandemic, and he utilised the time to fine-tune and rework on the script of Angoor adaptation.”
Ranveer Singh was last seen in Zoya Akhtar‘s Gully Boy. The actor will be next seen in Kabir Khan‘s 83 which is all set to release theatrically on Christmas this year.
