It’s been raining cats and dogs in Mumbai over the last few days but that doesn’t stop Bollywood from working. Alia Bhatt was spotted outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in a look that totally reflects my monsoon mood. Life came to a raging halt with lockdown going into effect almost immediately. But it looks like things are slowly and steadily re-opening and with that, some movies might even be resuming their shoot schedules. One of these movies that might resume its shooting is Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. She plays madam of a brothel in Kamathipura, really excited to see what she does with this role.
We, however, caught a glimpse of the movies first look back in January and the movie was scheduled to release this September. No new release dates have been confirmed yet. Scroll on to see what Alia Bhatt wore to meet director SLB at his office on Wednesday.
Here’s a closer look at Alia Bhatt’s comfy, minimal look:
I think Alia Bhatt truly has off-duty style nailed because every time she steps out I really seem to gravitate to her aesthetic. It looks effortless and comfortable and above all relatable and attainable. This time she stepped out in a dress by CORD. The oversized wrap, midi-dress featured a deep, V-neck with a tiny beige button on her waistline. Her 3/4th sleeves have slits in them that make for interesting design detail. The soft, cotton poplin fabric highlights the play of colours that look reminiscent of planet Earth. The earthy palette is definitely an autumn-winter palette I recommend more people to experiment with. Alia playfully accessorises her look with olive green espadrilles, shoes that I would 100% avoid in the monsoons. She also takes along with her the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche tote bag in linen and leather that costs approx 1 lakh rupees.
Alia pulled her hair back into a tight bun. In general, I tend to prefer wearing my hair back in the monsoons because it’s simply the best way to avoiding ending up with wet hair. I love that she pairs her look with a floral, black and yellow facemask from Nitya Bajaj.
