Shah Rukh Khan‘s upcoming projects have always been a point of discussion, given his long break from films. Though the actor hasn’t confirmed anything officially as of now, it seems that he has okay-ed three projects. One of them being Rajkumar Hirani‘s next social comedy based on migration. He also has Yash Raj‘s, Pathan, opposite his Om Shanti Om co-star, Deepika Padukone.
He is also said to be doing South-Indian actor, Atlee‘s next film, and according to a Mumbai Mirror report today, he is going to be playing a double role in the film.
The article quotes a source as saying that Atlee had been working on the story with SRK for almost two years now and they have finally zeroed down on a script. He says that the actor will essay the roles of both an investigating officer and of a top criminal in the film. The story will then revolve around their worlds, conflicts and confrontation.
The source also adds that this is something Atlee likes to explore in many of his films, including the South-Indian films, Bigil, Theri and Mersal, and is set to try it out with SRK here too! He is said to be working on the script now with a team of Karan Johar‘s writers, and will also be co-producing the film with SRK.
The source adds that while both Rajkumar Hirani’s and Atlee’s films are still in the scripting stage, Siddharth Anand‘s Pathan will go on floors very soon. John Abraham is going to be playing the antagonist in the film, which will mostly be shot in Mumbai, with just one international schedule.
Coming back to Atlee’s film, I sure cannot wait to know more about it and am super excited for it!
