A day after she suffered a brain stroke, senior actor Surekha Sikri, continues to be under observation in the ICU of Mumbai’s Criticare Hospital in Juhu. Right after the news of her illness spread, it was reported that her family was in need of financial help following the nurse’s remark that the 75-year-old actress could not be admitted in any other hospital due to the heavy fees.
However, according to a report by Midday, Surekha Ji’s long-time manager Vivek Sidhwani has put the speculations to rest. He said, “That was incorrectly put out in the press. Surekhaji has her own finances and the family, including her son, is by her side. There is no need for financial assistance for now”.
On Tuesday, several celebrities including Sonu Sood, Badhaai Ho director Amit Sharma and co-actor Gajraj Rao, came forward to help the senior actor. Talking about this the manager said, “Many of her well-wishers, colleagues and filmmakers were kind enough to offer financial assistance. They have been informed that the family is taking care of everything and giving her the best possible treatment. We would like to acknowledge everyone who reached out to us“.
Surekha Sikri is known for her impeccable performances in movies like Tamas, Mammo, Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, Zubeidaa and daily soap Balika Vadhu.
We wish her a speedy recovery.
