Shilpa Shinde became popular for her role as Anguri Bhabi in Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain before she quit to join the reality show Bigg Boss 11. She ended up winning the season of the show. Recent news suggested that the actress was going to join the cast of Star Bharat‘s Gang Of Filmistan, Sunil Grover‘s new song. But if reports are to be believed, looks like the actress has decided to opt out of the show even before it has started.
While talking to Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan, Shilpa shared her concerns with the said show. The actress is not too happy with Sunil Grover getting maximum screen time.
Talking about the same she said:
I will raise my voice because after doing so much of work and working so hard, I have to stand in the background in the entire act. Not just this, in this pandemic, we are shooting for 12-15 hours. I am talking about it now so that people can’t say later why I didn’t speak up earlier.
She further added:
The producers should understand and value their actors. Neither is the script ready nor do they have everything planned. The shift starts at morning 7 and we pack up at 11 in the night. You can’t exploit actors. We aren’t labours.
She also talked about her problem with Sunil Grover in the same interview.
50 per cent of my problem is with Sunil Grover. For promotions, they used my name but in the show’s promo, only Sunil can be seen. Not just this, Sunil will be a part of every act and we are given just one line. We are not there just to give cues to Sunil.
She even drew comparisons to The Kapil Sharma Show saying that the actors there get equal opportunity to act and get their space. She said nobody has to stand in the background and every character in the show has their own identity unlike Gangs Of Filmistaan. She alleged that the said show is all about Sunil Grover and that they should change the name to Sunil Grover Show.
Shilpa also said that she has already made up her mind to leave the show.
