News of Sanjay Dutt‘s cancer diagnosis has been a shock for all of us alike. The 61-year-old actor has been diagnosed with stage three lung cancer. Just last week, the actor, his wife Maanayata Dutt and his sisters Priya and Namrata Dutt were clicked by the photographers as they headed for his preliminary treatment here in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
While reports of Sanjay planning to travel to the US for treatments were going around, it wasn’t confirmed. But a Mid-Day report today states that the actor has procured a US visa and has completed all the procedures to fly for his treatment.
The publication quotes a source as saying that Sanjay had applied for the visa soon after his diagnosis, but it was a difficult process because he was among the ones acquitted in the 1993 Bombay blasts. The source informs that the actor has now gotten a 5-year visa on medical grounds with the help of a close friend. He also adds that if not for the US, the Agneepath actor had plans of travelling to Singapore for treatment.
Now, Sanjay is set to fly to the US at the earliest with his wife and sisters. There, he will be joined by his eldest daughter, Trishala Dutt, who lives in New York. He will be treated in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre. His mother, Nargis Dutt, who was battling pancreatic cancer, was also admitted tot he same hospital in 1980.
We are glad and pray for the actor’s speedy recovery!
