The sequel to Mohit Suri‘s 2014 crime thriller, Ek Villain has been in the works for a while now. While the original film starred Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, with Riteish Deshmukh playing the cold-blooded villain, there was a lot of speculation about the cast of Do Villain.
Now, according to an article by ETimes, Arjun Kapoor has been signed on to essay the role. So, it’s going to be one villain played by John, opposite another villain played by Arjun. This is the first time Arjun is going to play a character with grey shades to it.
Back in March, right before the lockdown began, Mohit had taken to his social media to announce the commencement of the film and had tagged Aditya Roy Kapur then.
Here’s the post:
While Aditya was all set to step into the shoes of the baddie in the film, we heard news of him having to step down because of creative differences.
The film also stars Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles and I cannot wait to see them all come together for this thriller!
Speaking of working together, Arjun and John are all set to collaborate on another project too. They just resumed shoot this week for Kashvie Nair‘s debut, cross-border romance which will also star Rakul Preet Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari.
