Neha Dhupia hit the scene when she won the 2002 Femina Miss India pageant. She was also amongst the top 10 contestants in Miss Universe pageant the very same year. I remember sitting in front of my television set rooting for Neha like it all happened yesterday. Neha has also been one of the judges and gang leaders on MTV Roadies since Season 14. Can’t tell me you guys didn’t love Roadies! I think it was everyone’s dream to be a Roadie at some point, including mine. *runs and hides face*
In 2016, Dhupia began hosting a Bollywood podcast called #NoFilterNeha on Saavn, the Indian music app. Neha has had 4 successful seasons of interviewing Bollywood celebrities since then. And plans to expand the podcast into a web series. She also hosted BFFs With Vogue on Colors Infinity where she interviews B-town celebs and their besties. In 2018, Neha Dhupia married Angad Bedi and gave birth to their first child, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. Another thing to take note of is Neha’s unconventional sartorial choices that always have us floored. Kudos to her stylists Gurleen Gambhir and Sukhmani Gambhir for giving her relatable and versatile looks. Scroll on for proof.
Here’s a closer look at Neha Dhupia’s casual yet dressy looks:
1) Layering cape with a maxi dress
This look reminds me of flowers blooming in a desert because it just feels summery and has a romantic mood. Neha wears a bottle-green cape with floral and paisley motifs from Limerick by Abirr n’ Nanki. The cape features gold embellishments down the front and is paired with an olive green maxi. The dress from The Loom Art features a V-neck and gold thread detailing through the dress. The ruffled hemline is what adds to the romantic appeal of the outfit. Neha styled the look with gold earrings from Roma Narsinghani and an Apple watch.
2) Neha in a cotton olive green dress
The more basic the dress, the better, because it becomes so much easier to dress up or dress down. Neha wears a cotton, button-down, olive dress from Three Clothing. She left the first, top few buttons undone that make it subtly sexy and added a gold necklace from Roma Narsinghani. The belt adds a nice touch of texture and cinches the waist. I do wish that outfit was steamed before this photo was taken, but that’s just my OCD brain jumping the gun.
3) Picnic table checks & a denim jacket
I am obsessed with picnic table checks; it’s a tough print to style because of how tacky it can look sometimes. But Neha’s managed to crack this trend because she smartly layers this look with a denim jacket. The relaxed, cotton, checkered midi dress from Ancestry looks super comfy and airy. I love the pairing of this dress with a Hemant and Nandita denim jacket. The jacket features stunning red floral motifs on the sleeves and white motifs on the body of the jacket in some places. Neha accessorised her look with a pair of white Adidas Originals Superstar sneakers.
4) Neha in a pleated skirt & trench coat
When you look at this ensemble you instantly say wow because of how regal and stylised it looks. Neha wears a pleated, emerald green midi skirt with a cream, sparkly polo-neck top from Zara. It’s the perfect party look to sport in the winters. She styled herself in a long line, black trench coat and accessorised with diamond, dangly earrings from Prerto. Her slicked-back hair and black suede boots add that regal touch to her avatar.
5) Neha in a matching tie-dye co-ord set
I would call this nailing the banjaran look, the perfect look for a festival in the desert. It’s light and airy and will keep you cool and stylish during the day. The bright blue tie and dye look from Āroka features a button-down shirt and dhoti pants. She accessorised her look with a pair of black ankle boots, a silver choker and stacked cuffs from Ritika Sachdeva. The final touches of completion came with oversized, black round-frame sunglasses and a tiny black bindi that upped the ante of her look.
6) Pleated asymmetrical kurta
Neha sports a gorgeous green, one-shoulder kurta with an asymmetrical hemline by the uber-talented Payal Khandwala. The kurta features purple floral motifs and delicate pleating. The kurta was paired with cotton, white wide-legged trousers and a gold ring from One Nought One One. What an elegant yet wearable look!
