According to the entertainment portal, the source said that the makers of the film were in talks with Netflix and Zee 5. And both the platforms were keen on bagging the rights, however, it’s Zee 5 who has added the film to their library. While producer Ali Abbas Zafar and his studio partner, Zee Studios, were more interested in holding back the film for a theatrical release.
Talking about why the makers chose to go with Zee 5, the source said that it’s a big-screen film, but the makers are uncertain about how the audience will react in the post-COVID times in terms of going to the theatres and watching the film. And the makers got a good offer from Zee 5, which is more of an internal transfer, thereby reducing the theatrical risk.
Helmed by Maqbool Khan, the film is touted to be a quintessential commercial entertainer.
