Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 has been on the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The trailer of the film starring Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur dropped a few days back and ever since then it has been garnering more dislikes than likes on Youtube.
According to India Today’s Data Intelligence Unit (DIU), reports BusinessToday. In, Sadak 2 got 11.3 million dislikes following 11.6 million dislikes for pop star Justin Bieber‘s 2010 song Baby and the highest 18.2 million (dislikes) for a video posted by YouTube itself, a rewind of the year 2018.
The trailer of Sadak 2 has been trolled by netizens as it is seen by people as a shining example of nepotism in Bollywood. The subject if nepotism, favouritism has become the hot topic since actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise in June.
Nepometer, an app created by the late actor’s relative, rated the movie as 98% nepotistic. Fans of Sushant Singh Rajput have also been campaigning on social media urging people to boycott Sadak 2.
Sadak 2 marks the comeback of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt as a director after a 2 decades-long hiatus. The film also stars Pooja Bhatt, Makarand Deshpande, Jishhu Sengupta, Gulshan Grover among others. It is all set to premiere on August 28 on Disney+Hotstar.
