Once you get into the habit of listening to podcasts, there’s no going back. Podcasts are super convenient—you don’t have to constantly stare at the screen, you can listen to them while doing your chores and there is a plethora of topics to choose from. For me, the one genre that interests me the most is the dark genre—be it crimes, conspiracies, or mysteries! And last month, there were some really interesting and dark podcasts that came out and have gotten me addicted. So, I thought if y’all share the same interest as me, you could try these podcasts too. 1. The Orange Tree
This one’s about two friends—Jennifer Cave and Colton Pitonyak. They’d both gone out to celebrate Colton’s new job in the West Campus area of Austin, Texas on 16th August 2005. And a couple of days later, Jennifer’s body is found at The Orange Tree condo complex which is near the University of Texas at Austin. It’s a true-crime series that will tell you what exactly happened to Jennifer and is a part of The Drag—hosted by journalists Haley Butler and Tinu Thomas.

2. Park Predators
US national parks have seen some horrible crimes take place. And that’s exactly what this podcast is all about! Hosted by Delia D’Ambra—an investigative journalist, this series talks about some of the most horrifyingly wicked murders committed in the national parks of the US. It also includes the murder spree of Gary Michael Hilton between 2007 and 2008 who was known as a drifter.

3. Deep Cover: The Drug Wars
The host of this nine-part podcast series is journalist Jake Halpern. It’s about the real story of Ned Timmons—an FBI agent in the 80’s who went undercover in an outlaw gang of bikers. But what he didn’t expect at the time was that he’d become entangled in a global drug cartel. A riveting podcast, this one will shed light on things you didn’t know about the 1989 US invasion of Panama.

4. Once Upon A Time… In The Valley
Traci Lords was a porn star who broke into the industry of adult entertainment at the age of 15 using a fake ID. This podcast tells her story along with the San Fernando Valley and the ’80s porn scene. It’s wild and super entertaining.

5. Guru: The Dark Side Of Enlightenment

A self-help motivational speaker, James Arthur Ray had a large number of devotees. But that was only until three of his clients died while they were at one of his new-age retreats. And naturally, he was convicted of three counts of negligent homicide. This podcast is hosted by Matt Stroud and talks about both the rise and fall of Ray!
