One is the actor who has given his audience a variety of content-driven films like Vicky Donor, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Andhadhun, Bala among others. And the other is also known for helming movies like Kai Po Che, Kedarnath, Rock On. And now, the two– Ayushmann Khurrana and Abhishek Kapoor are ready to collaborate for the first time.
According to reports, the untitled film which is a love story set in North India will go on floors this October. It will introduce Ayushmann in a never-seen-before avatar—that of a cross-functional athlete.
TOI reported that, director Abhishek Kapoor who confirmed the news said—
Ayushmann will have to undergo a physical transformation for this role. It’s quite a challenge and he’s committed to it.
Ayushmann, who is also excited and looking forward to starting the project said—
Abhishek has a distinct voice in cinema today, and I’m glad that we finally got the opportunity to work together on a project that’s close to my heart. This beautiful love story will take viewers on an emotional roller-coaster ride and it is a total family entertainer.
Speaking about the physical transformation the actor will have to undergo, he said—
I have never attempted a look like this on screen before and I’m already looking forward to seeing the reaction of audiences. The process is going to be intense and excruciating, but I feel that the pain will be worth it.
Meanwhile, the filmmaker is hopeful that the audience will get to watch the film on the big screen by the time the film releases, that is next year. He said, “This film is special for both Ayushmann and me. We want audiences to come back to theatres and watch movies as a community. And, we will spare no effort to achieve that.”
Well, I am super excited about this one and definitely cannot wait to watch the duo’s creation on the big screen.
