Today, Sushant Singh Rajput‘s last movie Dil Bechara releases on Disney+Hotstar. It’s a chance for all his fans to see how he breathed life into Manny. But speculations around his death and the would have beens haven’t stopped yet. Sushant still remains on top of the headlines. Whether it’s regarding his death or his life. Various conspiracy theories across the internet suggest that Sushant wasn’t get offered roles from good directors. But this has hence been proved otherwise as many from Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Anurag Kashyap had offered him roles which he had to refuse due to date issues.
In a recent interview with NDTV, Anurag revealed that he would’ve offered to cast Sushant in Gangs Of Wasseypur had he met the actor a little earlier. He said when he did meet Sushant, he directed him towards Abhishek Kapoor who then gave him his Bollywood debut Kai Po Che!. He also revealed that he had pursued Sushant for two other films which didn’t work out as he prioritized offers from big banners. He revealed that Sushant was supposed to star in Hasee Toh Phasee as well but after the actor signed up with YRF, he dropped the project. Anurag had also reached out to Sushant for Mukkabaaz but the actor had been booked for Dharma Productions‘ Drive and the director moved ahead and made Mukkabaaz with Vineet Kumar.
Talking about the incident Anurag said:
I was not upset. I moved on and made Mukkabaaz. It’s not like anybody’s upset. I am so used to this, That validation, you are seeking. And one can’t blame you. It’s a choice you’ve made. So you also have to deal with it. The boy was very talented. But at that time, he chose Drive over a film that I was doing. Because he’s been dying to work with Dharma.
