There has been a lot of conversation around Twitter regarding the Bollywood industry, the camps, nepotism in the past few days. Director Anubhav Sinha — the one behind critically acclaimed films like Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad — has been one such personality who has been vocal about these topics for most part. But just last night, he took to his Twitter and said that he had had enough and that he is ‘resigning from Bollywood’.
The director tweeted:
Post this, directors Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta joined in the conversation to back his statement. While Hansal Mehta said that it ‘never existed’ according to him, Sudhir Mishra asked ‘What’s Bollywood?’. He says that he was inspired to make films because of legends like Satyajit Ray, Raj Kapoor Shekhar Kapur, Gulzar, Javed Akhtar among others, and that’s where he’ll always stand.
Check out their tweets:
Replying to Sudhir Mishra’s tweet, Anubhav said that he is glad two people are out now, and states that he will also continue to make films in the Hindi film industry.
Here’s what he said:
Reflecting upon why he became a part of Bollywood, Anubhav says he doesn’t know why, and that he just wanted to make good films. But he says he has started to figure out why now.
